Wellingborough Tyres Help for Heroes

I am David Bangoura a French Firefighter and collect all fire brigade memorabilia.
I am looking for correspondents to exchange or sell articles and objects to do with the Fire Service.

Does anyone have helmets, badges, pennants, calendars etc. Which would help enlarge my collection for my future personal museum.

FRSCA

The Fire & Rescue Service

Chaplains’ Association

of the

United Kingdom and Islands

"The Fire & Rescue Service Chaplains' Association (FRSCA) of the United Kingdom and Islands is for all who have a role as a Chaplain or Faith Leader in the Fire Services. We are a multi-faith and non-denominational group who meet for an annual Conference at the Fire Service College, Moreton in Marsh, each September, to worship, to discuss chaplaincy matters and concerns, to encourage best practice and to welcome new chaplains into their role. An active committee meets between conferences.

Every Fire Service seems to have a slightly different model of chaplaincy; some have only one "County" chaplain, while others appoint chaplains to every Fire Station. But, all Chaplains are there for everyone in the Fire Service family, be they current Firefighters, Admin Staff or Retired Members. As our motto says, we are: "For All, Without Exception."

We do not seek to proselytise, but are there to "walk alongside" anyone who needs us."

Received following from Mrs P Jenkins - Can anyone shed any light

I have attached a copy of an article published in the Times and Star 2001 and copies of the photos. The photo of 1926 was included in the article but on the opposite page. The article is complete.

In the 1931 photo my grandfather William Henry Dickinson is sat in the front row, 2nd right next to who I am presuming is the chief. In the 1926 photo he is sat in the middle row at the right end.

In both photos he is wearing what appears to be the same medals. I think one of them is definitely from the first world war, however I am not sure/ how he was involved.

I have no knowledge of his life and he sadly died in 1935 aged only 32 years.

He lived his life in Maryport with his wife Margaret and his only surviving child of three was my father Colin Dickinson who was born in 1932.

I know William was a miner.

I understand the Maryport brigade operated only part-time or as when needed?

I cannot understand why I am having so much trouble locating information relating to the service, particularly when such effort has been made to recognise the service men's achievements?

I would really appreciate it if some or all of this information could be included on your site at some time as any response would be greatly appreciated. I would like to think that it may provide some useful information for some other families too.

Thank you for looking into this on my behalf, I am really looking forward to receiving some news.

Fire Brigade Insignia

I am trying to 'round-up' any spare Fire Brigade insignia for friends overseas and wondered if any members would be willing/able to help. I have a lot to thank several fire brigade enthusiasts for, especially in the U.S.A., and would welcome anything that can be spared.

Many thanks in advance for your continuing help.

"Leleka International" Fund

The Board of the "Leleka International" Fund is writing to the organisations, to the firms and to the persons with a hope that we will find a support and help in our work.
The  is an officially registered organisation /the registration number is 37219089 in The Ministry of Justice in Ukraine/.
The Fund unites citizens who wish to take part in help to Ukrainian children in organising recuperative trips and improving the children’s health.
The Board of our organisation has prepared a new project "Children's health trips" the main aim of which is organising recuperative trips for children from Ukraine Ukrainian in order to benefit their health as they live around the Chornobylska area which makes a bad influence on them. We hope to find some families or organisations which would be able to receive Ukrainian children for Christmas and would give them an opportunity to breath clean air and to eat fresh, free from radiation food. It would be a great opportunity to meet your culture and traditions as well.
Anyone who can help should write to the LELEKA INTERNATIONAL Fund at:
